The 8th Party Congress of the WPB has chosen a new leadership. During the first meeting of the National Council, at the end of January, a new Bureau of the party and a new president were elected. Members of the Party Bureau are: Lydie Neufcourt, Raoul Hedebouw, Jef Bruynseels, Boudewijn Deckers, Jo Cottenier, Jan Hasaers, David Pestieau and Peter Mertens.

Peter Mertens was elected as the new president of the WPB That means that he presides over the National Council and the Party Bureau. Both the National Council and the Party Bureau and the president must work according to directives' of the Party Congress. That means that they all must work on the renewal of the party. To develop more fully what this revival means, we will hold an assembly of all our members and a number of other people invited to the closing meeting of our Party Congress, this March 2 in Brussels.
